For QBCC-licensed pool safety inspectors

Inspection requests from homeowners who have already checked their pool

Homeowners who have already run the barrier self-check can send you a request from your listing. Run your inspections, reports and invoices from the same app.

The demo is your own private copy with made-up example data. No sign-up, and it's deleted automatically after about a day.

Business plans start with a 14-day trial, no card required. Prices include GST.

What you get

A directory listing built from QBCC's public register, requests from homeowners, and a complete app for the inspection itself.

  • Requests from self-checked homeowners

Each request has the homeowner's name, contact details and suburb, plus their self-check report if they choose to share it. It goes only to you, with no per-request fees.

  • Your directory listing

Claim the listing for your QBCC licence: add your business details, choose the councils you cover and whether your street address shows. Every claim is checked by a person against QBCC's public licence search before approval; a personal link we emailed to the address on the register record pre-checks your email, and we can reverse any approval. If you are also on QBCC's register for residential building inspection, a person can match the two after checking QBCC's search, and your profile then shows a dated line saying so; it appears only once confirmed and you can ask us to remove it.

  • Verified reviews

Only homeowners whose request you marked as booked or done through PoolPreCert can leave a review (that is what verified means here), and you can reply publicly. Your Google rating and a Google Maps button can show on your listing too.

  • Insights

Where certificates are issued, which months are busiest, how many inspectors already work each suburb and where homeowners are running checks. Every business account gets a preview; full Insights add every suburb and an export.

  • Inspection tools

A Queensland checklist that checks your measurements against the rules, photos, defect tasks with before-and-after photos, scheduling and comparison between inspections.

  • Quotes and invoices in Xero

Create a quote or invoice from the inspection and it is sent to your own Xero file, which numbers it, applies GST, emails it and takes payment. QuickBooks is coming soon; Xero works now.

See it in the app

Real screens from the PoolPreCert app, shown with example data.

Know what your listing is doing

See how many homeowners viewed your profile, tapped to call, clicked your website or opened Google Maps, and read and reply to your reviews.

  • Each person counts once a day and no personal details are kept
  • Listing order never depends on payment: it is based on distance and how complete the listing is

Run the inspection on your phone or laptop

Answer each barrier check as you walk the pool. Failed items become tasks automatically, and every answer records the rule version it was checked against.

  • Measurements are checked against the Queensland rules
  • AI points out visible hazards in photos, but never measures or certifies: you accept, override or dismiss each note

See where the work is

Insights uses QBCC's public registers and PoolPreCert activity to show certificates per inspector in each suburb, the busiest months and where homeowners are checking their pools.

Branded PDF reports

Your logo, ABN and licence number on every report. Email it to the customer or share it with an expiring secure link.

  • PoolPreCert records inspections and requests; it doesn't issue pool safety certificates. Licensed inspectors issue certificates through QBCC as usual.

A schedule that knows your jobs

See the week at a glance, colour-coded by stage, and switch between everyone's schedule and each team member's. Drag a job from the to-schedule list onto a day, or onto another day to move it, and open any job to see the customer, call, text or get directions.

Schedule board in the PoolPreCert app for a two-person business: Everyone, Mine and a team member to switch between, one column for each weekday with each person's jobs listed under their initials, a total and a dashed plus to add a job, a warning on two overlapping jobs, and a To schedule panel with three jobs waiting for a time

Let customers ask for a time

Share a booking page. Customers see open times only, never your other jobs or customers, and send a request. You approve it, move it or decline it, and it is not confirmed until you say so.

A business's customer booking page: pick a day, pick an open time, then enter your details. Each booking is sent as a request the business confirms

Start the day with what needs doing

The Today screen puts requests waiting for a reply, unpaid invoices and setup steps in order, with big buttons to add an inspection, customer or quote.

Quote and invoice without retyping

Send a quote or invoice for the inspection to Xero and see its status on the inspection. PoolPreCert never calculates tax: your accounting software does. QuickBooks is coming soon; Xero works now.

More to run your business

Practical tools that save time between inspections.

  • Schedule and calendar

See jobs by day, week or month, with a today list on your phone. Link each job to the customer and property, set your availability and days off, drag a job to another day or press Move to another day, and follow your schedule from your own calendar app.

  • Repeating jobs and planned dates

Book the same visit again on a pattern, such as a yearly re-check. Choose how often (every week, every 2 weeks, every month, every year or every number of days) and when it ends. Dates not booked yet show as Planned, and you can change one visit or every one after it. A repeat emails the customer only if you tick the box for that repeat, and planned dates show in your calendar link as tentative events.

  • Customer address book

Save a homeowner from a request as a customer, then search by name, phone, suburb or address. Each customer has tags, dated notes and a timeline of requests, inspections, quotes and invoices. Import or export a CSV.

  • Record keeping for QBCC

Photo and video capture times are kept, with short gate videos you record in the app (about 720p, with a timer) or choose from a file, shrunk on your phone when big and retried if the signal drops, non-climbable zone notes and a Records page with a keep-until date and downloads. A data sheet follows the order of the Form 26 fields. It doesn't connect to the QBCC Portal.

  • Insights you can explore

Choose a date range, compare with the previous period, tap a tile to see the records behind it, search, sort and download any table, and save the views you use.

  • Faster everyday work

Search across customers and properties, reuse message templates and saved items, act on several records at once, and follow a getting-started list when you begin.

  • Comfortable to use

Dark mode, a notification centre where each notice opens the exact item, and a change history with undo for the mistakes everyone makes.

Faster in the field, easy to share

Built for days on the road.

  • Today screen

Open the app to your next job, call-backs, quotes waiting and expiries. Next-best-action cards suggest what to do next, a two-tap add and quick note are on every screen, and lists have swipe actions.

  • Photo mode

Take a photo, pick the checklist item and move on. Photos wait on your phone until the connection returns, then upload in order.

  • Customer link

Send a customer a private link to a page with their bookings, quotes, invoices and recorded certificate dates. No sign-in is needed, the link expires, and you can switch it off at any time.

  • Reports and exports

Pick a date range and look at quotes and invoices, jobs, completed inspections or certificate expiries, then download a CSV or PDF. Share the quotes and invoices report with your accountant by a private link, or take everything with you in one ZIP.

  • Shared request inbox

Say who is looking after each request and leave a team note only your team can see. A plain table shows what each role can do.

  • Phone number protection

Your listing's phone number shows behind a Show phone button, which makes it harder for bots to collect.

Everyday jobs, done properly

Small things that save a lot of time.

  • Job templates and checklists

Start a job from a template for its type, with a tick-list for the person on site. Starter templates are one tap away. They are prompt lists, not the QBCC inspection record.

  • Re-inspection loop

From an inspection job, book the re-inspection with a due-by date inside the three-month window, and link to fence contractors for repairs.

  • Certificate expiry radar

On the Certificates page, email an owner a reminder to book, or press Book the next one to start the job yourself, for pools expiring or already expired.

  • Status colours and waiting-on tags

The schedule colours jobs by stage, from to schedule to done, and a waiting-on tag shows when a job is held up by the customer, parts, quote approval, access or payment.

  • Site notes and photos before you arrive

Keep gate quirks, access notes and pinned site photos with the property, and see them on the job and in the schedule before you get there.

  • One-tap call, text and directions

Call, Text and Directions sit beside each phone number and address on customers, jobs, the schedule and your request inbox. Text opens your own messaging app.

  • Before and after photos with marks

Show before and after photos side by side and mark them with circles, arrows and text.

  • Job costing

Record hours, materials and other costs against a job and see profit and margin, with GST taken out.

  • Optional follow-ups

Switch on one email reminder for a quote with no answer and one for an unpaid invoice. They are off until you turn them on, and each goes once.

Teams, bookings and reports

For one-person businesses and small teams.

  • Team scheduling

Give jobs to team members, see each person's schedule and Today list, set each person's hours and days off, and get a warning with a one-tap fix when two jobs clash once travel time is allowed.

  • Best order for the day

Put the day's jobs in a sensible order by suburb, then open the route in your phone's maps app. The order only changes when you press the button, and a kilometre saving is shown only when the new order is shorter.

  • Customer booking page

Switch on a booking page and customers pick an open time. It arrives as a request you approve, move or decline, and it is never confirmed automatically unless you choose that.

  • Reports with photos

Reports can include the job photos, with circles, arrows and text, and a before and after section.

  • Site photos shown before you arrive

Pin photos to a property so they show on later jobs there, before you arrive.

Built for the field and the file

Works in the car park, and keeps the record.

  • Works when the signal drops

Checklist answers and photos you take with no signal wait on your phone and upload when you are back online, and a strip shows what is saved on the phone.

  • Fuller inspection records

A records page holds a barrier layout sketch (not to scale), exemptions or variations and performance solutions with the reasons, and a dated log of advice given. Completed records are read-only and appear in the report PDF and record pack.

Your own link, QR code and button

Put PoolPreCert's self-check on your own website, email signature or Facebook page.

Businesses whose plan or trial includes requests get a personal link, a QR code and a printable poster, plus a simple button to put on their own website, email signature or Facebook page. It is included in the plan with no extra charge.

Someone who uses it does their own self-check, which is not an inspection, and can choose to send the result to your business. You see counts of how many times it was opened and how many requests came in, not who looked.

Reply to a self-check to arrange a booking. Only a licensed pool safety inspector decides whether a pool meets the standard, and you give no view on a pool until you have attended.

How to set up the Website button

How it works

From claiming your listing to your first booking.

  1. Claim your listing

Find your QBCC licence in the directory and claim it. A person checks your claim against QBCC's public licence search (a personal claim link sent to the email on the register record pre-checks your email), then you add your details and coverage.

  2. Receive requests

Switch on requests and homeowners can send you theirs, from your listing or straight from the app after their self-check. You contact them directly.

  3. Inspect and report

Run the inspection in the app, send the branded report and your invoice, and mark the request done so the homeowner can review you.

Homeowners can ask you to contact them, even before you join. Any homeowner with an account can ask a listed inspector to contact them. Those requests wait for up to 60 days. Before you have claimed your listing you see only how many have asked, and nothing is sent to you or shared with you. Once you have claimed your listing and your trial or plan includes requests, the waiting requests appear in your inbox with the homeowner's name, contact details and suburb, and you contact them directly. We do not promise that homeowners will keep asking.

What membership costs

Starter $49 a month ยท Business $99 a month (incl. GST)

Both start with a 14-day trial, no card required. Pay yearly and get 2 months off. There are no per-request fees and no lock-in contract. Founding member offer: the first 20 businesses to subscribe get 3 months at no charge, then 25% off for as long as you stay. 20 of 20 places left. Being listed never depends on paying; receiving requests is part of a business membership.

One extra inspection a month more than covers Starter. Insights uses data from QBCC's registers and PoolPreCert activity; it is not a forecast of the work you will win.

Common questions

Does it cost anything to be listed?

Being listed is open to every licensed inspector and never depends on paying. Receiving requests and the inspection tools are part of a business membership: Starter is $49 a month and Business is $99 a month (incl. GST), both with a 14-day trial and no card required.

Do I pay for each request?

No. Requests are included in your membership with no per-request fees, however many you receive. There is no lock-in contract: pause requests or cancel at any time.

Can I pay to rank higher?

No. How inspectors are ordered never depends on payment: it is based on distance, verified reviews and how complete the listing is, including whether it is confirmed. Any sponsored listing is shown separately and labelled.

Who can review me?

Only homeowners whose inspection request you marked as booked or done through PoolPreCert can leave a review, and you can reply publicly.

Can I put the self-check on my own website?

Businesses whose plan or trial includes requests get a personal link, a QR code and a printable poster, plus a simple button to put on their own website, email signature or Facebook page. Someone who uses it does their own self-check, which is not an inspection, and can choose to send the result to your business. You see counts of how many times it was opened and how many requests came in. It is included in the plan with no extra charge. Reply to a self-check to arrange a booking: only a licensed pool safety inspector decides whether a pool meets the standard, and you give no view on a pool until you have attended.

What is the "Also listed on QBCC's register" line on an inspector profile?

Some pool safety inspectors are also on QBCC's register for residential building inspection. We find possible matches by name, then a person at PoolPreCert checks QBCC's own licence search before confirming one. Only then does your profile show a line saying you are also listed there, with the date of the register file and a link to QBCC's search. It is never added automatically, and it goes by itself if a later register file shows the licence suspended, cancelled or missing. To have it removed, use the contact form and we will take it down.

Does PoolPreCert issue pool safety certificates?

No. PoolPreCert records your inspections and requests. Licensed inspectors issue pool safety certificates through QBCC as usual.

Do I need Xero?

No. Connecting your own Xero file is optional. When you do, quotes and invoices you create from an inspection are sent there, and your accounting software numbers them, applies GST and emails them. QuickBooks is coming soon; Xero works now.

What do my customers see in emails from PoolPreCert?

Emails PoolPreCert sends to your customers (booking confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, review invitations) say they were sent by PoolPreCert for your business and include a one-click unsubscribe. PoolPreCert keeps a suppression list, so an address that unsubscribes is not emailed again.

What happens to my inspection records if I close my account?

Completed records are protected inside your account for five years and are deleted with the account, so download your records first. Closing an account asks you to confirm you have downloaded them.
