Inspections: the checklist, photos and finishing

For: Pool safety inspectors · Last updated 16 October 2026

Inspections is where a licensed inspector records an inspection. The checklist walks through the Queensland pool barrier items and the record builds as you go.

Who it is for: Inspector accounts. Viewers cannot change inspections.

How to do it

  1. Open Inspections and press New inspection. Choose the property, the customer if you have one, and the type of barrier.
  2. Answer each item and add notes. Put measurements such as gate height or gap sizes in the measurement boxes, taken with your own tape.
  3. Add photos to any item. Photos and answers save as you go and work with a weak signal.
  4. Press Photo mode to take photos quickly, or the AI photo check on a photo for prompts to look at in person.
  5. Press Finish to review the inspection, add who was present, and create the report. A finished inspection is locked.

What it does not do

  • PoolPreCert does not decide anything or issue a certificate. The inspector decides and issues the QBCC form through the QBCC Portal.
  • It does not connect to the QBCC Portal or submit anything.

PoolPreCert helps you do and record your work. It does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
