Claim your directory listing
For: Pool safety inspectors, Pool fence contractors, Pool builders · Last updated 30 October 2026
Short answer: sign in with a business account, open Directory listing, search for your QBCC licence number or business name, press This is me and then Submit claim for review. A person checks your licence on QBCC's public search, usually within 2 business days. There is no charge to claim.
Who it is for: Licensed inspectors, pool fence contractors and pool builders with a business account. Directory listings are built from QBCC's public licence data, so your business is probably already there.
How to do it
- Sign in with your business account and open Directory listing in the menu. (No account yet? Create a business account first, choosing your trade.)
- Press Find and claim your listing, type your QBCC licence number or business name, then press Find my business.
- On your business press This is me. If you were sent a personal claim link, opening it takes you straight to your listing instead.
- Check the details on the Claim your listing form. They are filled in from the register and your account, and you can edit them. Press Submit claim for review.
- Your claim shows under Claims as Waiting for review. While it waits, an owner or admin can press Withdraw.
- If you are not listed, press Not listed? Add your business, fill in the form and press Submit listing for review. It creates a hidden listing and a claim for the team to check.
Start from your listing
Every listing that has not been claimed has a link on the inspector's card and at the top of the profile: Is this you? Claim this listing (no charge), or Confirm or correct your details (no charge) when we have filled in details from your own website or business listing. It opens the claim search with your licence number already typed in. Once a listing is claimed the link goes.
What to have ready
Your QBCC licence number, the email address of your business account, and the details you want shown on your listing: business name, phone, website and a short About your business. Add the councils you cover and the services you offer after approval, under Edit your listing.
What happens next
A person from the PoolPreCert team checks your licence on QBCC's public search before the listing goes live, usually within 2 business days. A claim made from a personal link we emailed to the address on the register record is checked the same way, and the link usually makes the check quicker.
Once approved, the badge on Claims turns to Approved and your public listing carries a confirmed badge (Listing confirmed by inspector, or Listing confirmed by the business for contractors and builders). You can edit it, choose whether to receive requests, and collect verified reviews. If a claim is not approved, the team's note appears under it.
The public listing shows your suburb, never your email, and your street address only if you choose to show it. Licence status is shown with the date it was last checked.
No charge to claim
Claiming a listing has no charge.
What it does not do
- Claiming does not change your QBCC licence or confirm it. Licence status comes from public data and is shown with the date it was last checked.
- Paying never moves a listing up the order.
Common questions
How long does approval take?
Every claim, including one made through a personal claim link, is checked by a person against QBCC's public licence search, usually within 2 business days. You will see the status under Claims on the Directory listing page.
I cannot find my business. What now?
Try your licence number exactly as it appears on your QBCC licence. If you are still not listed, press Not listed? Add your business and we will check your licence.
