Check a pool on QBCC and open the QBCC Portal

For: Pool safety inspectors, Property managers and agencies · Last updated 23 October 2026

Short answer: open the menu, choose QBCC links, then press Check a pool on the QBCC register. Where you see a property address, press Copy address, then Check on QBCC and paste it into QBCC's search. PoolPreCert gives you quick links to QBCC's own site: a QBCC links sheet in the menu, and Copy address and Check on QBCC buttons wherever you see a property address. They are links and a copy button only.

Who it is for: Inspectors and property managers.

How to do it

  1. Open the menu and choose QBCC links. Three big buttons open QBCC's own site in a new tab: Check a pool on the QBCC register, Open QBCC Portal and QBCC forms and guides.
  2. On a property, the start of an inspection, an inspection, a job or Records, tap Copy address. It copies the street, suburb, state and postcode the way QBCC's search expects, and the button shows a tick.
  3. Tap Check on QBCC, paste the address into QBCC's Pool Register search and pick the matching suggestion.
  4. After you finish an inspection, tap Lodge in QBCC Portal, sign in on QBCC's site and lodge there. Your QBCC-ready data sheet has the details to copy in.

What to have ready

The property's street address (or its lot and plan number), written the way QBCC's register search expects, and, to lodge a certificate, your own QBCC Portal sign-in. PoolPreCert never holds that sign-in.

What happens next

QBCC's own site opens in a new tab. What the register shows is QBCC's information, so read it there. After you lodge in the QBCC Portal, come back and finish your PoolPreCert record. PoolPreCert tracks the re-inspection date under Records.

Why copy the address?

QBCC's register search is an address box that suggests matches as you type. It can't be opened already filled in, so PoolPreCert copies the address for you to paste.

Form 26

If you found items that need fixing, QBCC's guide explains the nonconformity notice (Form 26). PoolPreCert tracks the re-inspection date under Records.

Also listed on QBCC's register (building inspection)

Some pool safety inspectors are also on QBCC's register for residential building inspection, or for swimming pool construction. Pool safety inspectors are not in QBCC's open-data register file, so PoolPreCert can only suggest a match from your name (and the postcode on the register). A person at PoolPreCert then opens QBCC's own licence search to check it is you before confirming.

Once confirmed, your directory profile shows a line such as: Also listed on QBCC's register for residential building inspection (register file dated 29 October 2026). Check current status on QBCC's licence search. It links to QBCC's search and names the source (QBCC licensed contractors register on data.qld.gov.au, CC BY 4.0). If a later register file shows the licence suspended, cancelled or missing, the line goes by itself.

It is never added automatically. If it is wrong, or you would rather it was not shown, use the contact form and we will take it down.

What it does not do

  • PoolPreCert does not sign in to QBCC, keep your QBCC sign-in, look pools up on your behalf or lodge anything. These are links to QBCC's own site.
  • PoolPreCert is not part of QBCC and cannot say what QBCC's register shows. Always check there.

Common questions

Why doesn't Check on QBCC show the pool straight away?

QBCC's search needs you to type or paste the address and pick a suggestion. Paste the address you copied, then choose the match.

Why does my profile say I am also listed on QBCC's register?

A person at PoolPreCert matched your listing to a QBCC register entry for building inspection (or pool construction) after checking QBCC's own licence search. It shows only while the latest register file still lists that licence as active. To have it removed, use the contact form.

PoolPreCert helps you do and record your work. It does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
