Certificates and expiry reminders

For: Property managers and agencies, Pool safety inspectors, Pool owners · Last updated 16 October 2026

Certificates is your own record of pool safety certificates (Form 23): number, dates and the property. PoolPreCert records them and reminds you before they expire.

Who it is for: Pool owners, agencies and inspectors.

How to do it

  1. Open Certificates and add a certificate with its number, dates and the property. You can also import dates in bulk.
  2. Reminders arrive by email at 60 days, 14 days and on the day. For agencies they can also go to each property's manager.
  3. On a property page, the QBCC public register panel shows what QBCC's published open data says, with an as-at date. It can be out of date.
  4. On pools that are expiring or expired use Request inspection or, on a business account, Book the next one. Book the next one opens Add job with the property, a re-inspection and a date 14 days before the end date you recorded. You can change the date. If that day has gone by, it starts today. For a pool whose certificate lasts a year you can also choose Book it to repeat every year. The same link is on the Certificate expiry outlook in Insights and on the certificate cards in your Schedule.
  5. For owners you can send a reminder by email.

What it does not do

  • PoolPreCert does not issue certificates. A Form 23 is issued by a licensed pool safety inspector through the QBCC Portal.
  • It does not check a certificate with the QBCC live.

Common questions

How long does a certificate last?

Under QBCC guidance, one year for a shared pool and two years for a non-shared pool. Check the QBCC page for your situation.

PoolPreCert helps you do and record your work. It does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
