Ask inspectors near you to get in touch

For: Pool owners · Last updated 5 November 2026

Every inspector area and suburb page in the directory has a box that says Want an inspector to get in touch? You can ask up to three inspectors near that place to contact you about a pool safety inspection. There is no charge to you.

Who it is for: Pool owners with a homeowner account, or who are willing to create one (no charge).

How to do it

  1. Open a pool safety inspector area or suburb page and find the box Want an inspector to get in touch?
  2. Press Request an inspection. If you do not have a homeowner account, create one; if you do, choose I already have an account and sign in.
  3. On the request page, the nearest inspectors are ticked. Untick any you do not want to ask. You can ask up to three.
  4. Enter your name, a phone number or email, and the suburb of the pool. Add a short note if you like, such as when suits you.
  5. Tick the box that agrees PoolPreCert may pass your details to the inspectors you ticked. The box is never ticked for you.
  6. Press Send my request. The next page tells you how many inspectors have your request and how many are waiting.
  7. Open Your requests to see them. You can withdraw a request there at any time.

What happens to your request

An inspector who takes requests through PoolPreCert sees your request straight away and contacts you directly.

An inspector who has not joined PoolPreCert, or who cannot see requests yet, cannot be sent anything. Your request waits here for up to 60 days. If that inspector joins in that time, we share your details with it and email you. If not, the request is deleted.

Nothing goes to any inspector you leave unticked.

What it does not do

  • It does not promise that an inspector will reply or book a time.
  • It is not an inspection and it does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
  • It does not rank or recommend inspectors. The nearest are ticked to save you time, and you choose who to ask.

Common questions

Does it cost anything?

There is no charge to you to send a request.

Do I have to do the self-check first?

No. You can ask inspectors to get in touch without doing a self-check. If you have done one, you can also send your results with a request from your account.

Who sees my details?

Only the inspectors you tick. For an inspector who has not joined, that happens only if it joins within 60 days. You can withdraw a request at any time.

PoolPreCert helps you do and record your work. It does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
