Ask a business to contact you

For: Pool owners · Last updated 30 October 2026

Some listed businesses have not joined PoolPreCert yet, or have joined but cannot see requests. You can still ask them to contact you. Your request waits for up to 60 days and nothing is sent to the business until it joins and can see requests.

Who it is for: Pool owners with a homeowner account.

How to do it

  1. Open a listing in the directory and press Ask [business name] to contact me. The line under the button says it needs a no-charge account and that your request waits up to 60 days until they can see it. You will be asked to sign in or create a homeowner account.
  2. Check your name, phone or email, and suburb, add a short note if you like, and choose what you need if you are asking a pool fence contractor or pool builder.
  3. Tick the box that agrees PoolPreCert may pass your details to the business if it joins PoolPreCert within 60 days. The box is never ticked for you.
  4. Press the Ask button. The page tells you the request is waiting and that nothing has been sent to the business yet.
  5. Open Your requests to see it under Waiting for the business to join, with the date it will be deleted if the business has not joined.
  6. To stop it, press Withdraw. It is deleted at once.

If the business joins

If the business joins PoolPreCert and its plan or trial includes requests within 60 days, we share your name, contact details, suburb and note with it and email you to say so. The request then appears under your normal requests and works like any other request.

If it does not

Nothing is ever sent to the business. After 60 days your waiting request is deleted.

What it does not do

  • It does not send anything to the business until the business joins and can see requests.
  • It does not promise that the business will reply, or book a time.
  • Asking a business to contact you is not an inspection. Only a licensed pool safety inspector can inspect your pool and issue a pool safety certificate or nonconformity notice.

Common questions

Can I reach the business another way?

If we hold a phone number you can tap Show phone number. You can also press Find phone and website on Google, which opens a Google search for the business in a new tab. PoolPreCert does not send anything for you when you use those.

Can I ask more than one business?

Yes, one waiting request for each business. You can have up to ten new requests a day.

PoolPreCert helps you do and record your work. It does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
