Show that you also do pool surrounds

For: Pool fence contractors, Pool builders · Last updated 6 November 2026

If your business also does the area around a pool (paving, decking, concreting or landscaping), you can say so on your listing. A claimed pool fence contractor or pool builder listing then shows a small line, Says it also does pool surrounds, with the date you set it, and homeowners can narrow a list to businesses that carry the tag. It is your own statement. It is off until you tick it and there is no charge.

Who it is for: Owners and admins of a business that has claimed a pool fence contractor or pool builder listing.

How to do it

  1. Open Directory listing from the menu.
  2. In the Your profile box, tick Also does pool surrounds (paving, decking, concreting, landscaping around the pool).
  3. Press Save listing. The page tells you it has saved.
  4. Open View your public profile. Under the services you will see a line that says your business says it also does pool surrounds, with the date you set it.
  5. To remove it, untick the box and press Save listing. The line and the date go from your profile and from the lists.

What homeowners see

On your public profile: a short line that says your business says it also does pool surrounds, the date you set it, and that PoolPreCert has not checked it and it is not a QBCC licence claim.

On council and suburb lists: the same short line on your card, and an Also does pool surrounds button above the list when at least one business on that page carries the tag. The button narrows the list on that page only. It does not open another page.

What it does not change

It does not move you up or down in any list, it does not add a page to the website, and it does not need a separate licence entry. Unclaimed listings never show the tag.

What it does not do

  • It does not check, confirm or endorse that you do pool surrounds. PoolPreCert shows only what you say.
  • It is not a QBCC licence claim and does not show a licence number.
  • It does not say a surround meets any rule or standard.

Common questions

Why can't I see the box?

Only a claimed listing has the box, and only the business owner or an admin can change it. If you have not claimed your listing yet, claim it first.

Does the date change when I save again?

No. The date is the day you first switched the tag on. Switch it off and on again to set a new date.

Can PoolPreCert switch it on for me?

A PoolPreCert admin can switch it on or off for a claimed listing at your request. The change is logged.

PoolPreCert helps you do and record your work. It does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
