Quotes and invoices with Xero

For: Pool safety inspectors, Pool fence contractors, Pool builders, Property managers and agencies · Last updated 16 October 2026

PoolPreCert does not hold your invoices. It creates them in your own Xero file and shows them on the Invoices page. Amounts and status refresh when you open the page. QuickBooks is coming soon; Xero works now.

Who it is for: Owners, admins and inspectors. Viewers cannot create them.

How to do it

  1. Open Settings, then Integrations, press Connect for Xero and sign in to allow PoolPreCert.
  2. Choose the default item that quotes and invoices will use.
  3. Open Invoices and press New (or Create quote or invoice on a customer or inspection).
  4. Choose quote or invoice, the customer, and optionally the property. Add the main line and up to four more.
  5. Tick Email it to the customer to send it, or leave it unticked to create it without sending.

GST

Your accounting software applies the item's price and tax code. PoolPreCert never works out GST itself.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect at any time. Documents already created stay in your accounting software. If the connection expires you are asked to reconnect.

What it does not do

  • PoolPreCert does not take payments for invoices.

Common questions

Can I connect QuickBooks?

Not yet. QuickBooks is coming soon; Xero works now.

It says Xero is coming soon.

Then it is not switched on for your account yet. Email support@poolprecert.com.

PoolPreCert helps you do and record your work. It does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
