Promote your listing above the list
For: Pool safety inspectors, Pool fence contractors, Pool builders · Last updated 6 November 2026
Promote shows your listing in a clearly labelled Sponsored space above the list on the council and suburb pages you choose, for 1, 4 or 12 weeks. You pay one fixed price per area. It does not change reviews, ratings, licence details or the order of the list.
Who it is for: Business owners and administrators who have claimed their listing, whose licence shows as current and was checked recently, and who work in the area they want to promote.
How to do it
- Open Promote in the menu. If something stops you, the page says what it is and what to do about it.
- Choose how long: 1, 4 or 12 weeks. A longer period costs less a week.
- Tick the areas where you work. Each shows its price a week, how many places are open and, where we have it, the certificates lodged in the last 12 months with the date of that data. A council page does not include its suburbs; tick each suburb you want.
- Check the total. It includes GST and the page shows when it ends.
- Press Pay with card. You pay on Stripe's page. It starts as soon as the payment goes through.
- Open Results on a promotion to see how it is going. You can pause, resume or cancel it from the Promote page.
What the public sees
Your card sits above the list, under the word Sponsored, with your name, licence number and status, suburb, phone, website and a View profile link. A line under the cards says that sponsored businesses paid to be shown, that payment does not change reviews, ratings, licence information or the order of the list, and that PoolPreCert does not recommend or vouch for them.
Up to two sponsored cards show on a page, and up to four businesses can be sponsored in one area. They take turns every few hours, so each gets an equal share of the time.
Rules
Your card is labelled Sponsored and shown above the list. Payment does not change reviews, ratings, licence details or the order of the list below it.
At most 2 sponsored cards are shown on a page, and at most 4 businesses can be sponsored in an area. They take turns, so each gets an equal share of the time.
There is no guarantee of views, calls, requests or any other result.
You can pause for up to 14 days in total. The end date moves later by the days you pause.
Cancel before your card has been shown and you get a full refund. Cancel while it is running and it stops at once; you get back the full weeks you have not used. The week in progress is not refunded.
If we cannot show your card, or your licence stops showing as current, it stops and you get back the unused time.
A council page does not include its suburbs. Each suburb is bought on its own.
All prices include GST. You get a tax invoice from Pool Pre Cert.
Pausing, cancelling and refunds
Pause stops your card showing at once. The end date moves later by the days you pause. You can pause for up to 14 days in total.
Cancel before your card has been shown and you get a full refund. Cancel while it is running and it stops at once; you get back the full weeks you have not used, and the week in progress is not refunded.
If we cannot show your card, or your licence stops showing as current, it stops and you get back the unused time. Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
Reading the results
These numbers come from the same counters as the rest of PoolPreCert. They are counts only: no visitor is named.
Times your card was shown: Counted once per visitor per day, only when the card was on screen for about a second. Search engines and other robots are ignored. Taps on your sponsored card: Taps on the links on your card. This is the only number caused directly by the sponsored space.
These numbers include visits from search, from your own links and from every other page, not only this sponsored card. Other things change at the same time, such as the season, new reviews and other businesses. A change does not show that the promotion caused it.
A percentage change is shown only when the promotion has run at least 7 days and both periods have at least 10 events. Until then you see the counts and what is missing. Zero is shown as zero.
What it does not do
- It does not promise any views, calls, requests or bookings.
- It does not change your reviews, ratings, licence details or your place in the ordinary list.
- It does not let you pay to be shown in an area you do not work in.
Common questions
Can I bid to be first?
No. Prices are fixed and the cards take turns. Nobody can buy the whole page.
Do I also appear in the ordinary list?
Yes, if you are in it. When you choose an area, the page tells you where you already appear in the ordinary list there.
What does GST do to the price?
Every price includes GST, and you get a tax invoice.
PoolPreCert helps you do and record your work. It does not decide whether a pool meets the Queensland standard. Only a licensed pool safety inspector does that.
